Kenya’s horticultural export sector continues to be a major contributor to foreign exchange earnings and rural employment. According to 2025 quarterly data:
Between July and September 2025, Kenya exported horticultural products valued at KES 31.3 billion (approximately US$195.6 million) to global markets, led by the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
Total horticultural exports (including flowers, fruits, and vegetables) reached about KES 50.55 billion in one quarter (April–June 2025), with volumes up by 18%.
Recent annual statistics show that the total value of horticultural exports in 2024 was around KES 136.6 billion, despite regulatory challenges and logistics disruptions.
